Four years after the end of her duo with sister Simone Mendes, announced in August 2022, the singer from Bahia recorded her first solo DVD in São Paulo — and TV Globo's Fantástico followed the behind-the-scenes. The interview airs this Sunday (Oct. 11).
In the conversation, Simaria explains that she stepped away to prioritize her own health and her children's. 'When it sank in that I had to take care of my children and, above all, take care of myself', she said, according to O Tempo. She says she needed to slow down and focus on her mental health, her body and her family.
The most anticipated topic, however, is Simone. The duo's split came amid speculation about fights, and Simaria had spoken about hurt feelings in the past. Now the tone is different: 'Today we have a better relationship than when we sang together.' According to the singer, her sister is closely following the new phase and taking part in decisions about her comeback.
