Kennedy, held their religious wedding on Saturday afternoon (10) at the Igreja Nossa Senhora do Carmo da Antiga Sé in downtown Rio de Janeiro. The church is steeped in history: Princess Isabel married the Count of Eu there in 1864, and it became the Royal Chapel after the Portuguese court arrived in 1808. The couple had already married in a private civil ceremony in the United States in March.
The bride arrived by car in a floral lace gown with a high neck, a row of small buttons down the bodice and long sheer sleeves with appliqués, a romantic, Victorian-inspired look. A light tulle veil partly covered her face, and her earrings were understated. To protect the look, security set up a structure draped in a large white cloth between the car and the church door, while onlookers gathered to photograph the guests.
The ceremony capped a weekend of festivities: a welcome dinner for family and friends on Thursday (8) and, on Friday (9), a blessing at the foot of Christ the Redeemer on Corcovado. After the church, the reception was set for the Instituto Brando Barbosa in Jardim Botânico, a venue linked to the bride's father, Paulo Marinho, with lunch under a tent and live Brazilian music. Together since 2022, Giulia and Conor announced their engagement in August 2024.
