Thatched roof, beach out front and a pool slide: inside the $35 million Hawaii mansion Jim Carrey just put up for sale
Hours after his secret marriage to Min Ah came to light, the actor listed his oceanfront retreat in Maui, a home once owned by the director of 'The Goonies'.

The home sits on Keawakapu Beach, on the border of Kihei and Wailea, and is being marketed by eMaui Real Estate.
The estate covers nearly one acre across two beachfront lots, with roughly 170 feet of sand frontage. The main house, at more than 4,000 square feet with three bedrooms and five bathrooms, was built in 2002 and designed by the firm Ike Kligerman Barkley with a tropical-resort feel: a thatched roof, Douglas fir framing and woven bamboo interiors.
The outdoor space is the real showstopper. The freeform pool has natural rock, a grotto, a slide and a spa, surrounded by coconut palms and mature tropical landscaping. There is also a separate two-bedroom guest house with its own entrance, and the property is being sold fully furnished.
The mansion also has Hollywood pedigree: according to the brokerage, it belonged to director Richard Donner, of 'Superman', 'The Goonies' and 'Lethal Weapon', and producer Lauren Shuler Donner, of the 'X-Men' franchise, and it sold in November 2016 for $16.5 million. If it fetches the current asking price, its value will have more than doubled in ten years.
