All it took was Arthur Aguiar and Thiago Nigro following each other again on Instagram for the internet to build a theory: Maíra Cardi, Arthur's ex-wife and Nigro's current wife, was supposedly helping her ex financially. The rumor, which has not been confirmed, gained traction because the singer and former reality star's name was tied to a bank charge — later paid — and because he faces an eviction lawsuit over a property in São Paulo.

On Friday night (9), both went to the comments on columnist Leo Dias's profile to respond. 'People, stop creating absolute truths about things you have no idea about,' Arthur wrote, insisting Maíra 'has absolutely nothing to do with it. Nothing!' He added: 'Leave me alone for a bit!'

Nigro came to his former rival's defense: 'People, don't take away the credit that is his. Not everything needs someone behind it. This should be celebrated, not questioned.' Arthur and Maíra, who had an on-and-off relationship and share a daughter, Sophia, ended their marriage in 2022; the following year she began dating Nigro, whom she later married.
