In a video posted on social media on Saturday (Oct. 3), the actor announced he will vote for Flávio Bolsonaro (PL), explaining that he had seen 'several former colleagues' speak out and wanted to share his view 'to balance things out a little.' In the clip, he also criticized left-wing governments, citing corruption and economic difficulties.
Known for his environmental activism, Fasano said he intends to make himself 'available to the next government' to help tackle the country's environmental problems. The post quickly became one of the day's talking points: according to Correio Braziliense's TV Prime, it surpassed 1.7 million likes and 187,000 comments. Among celebrity reactions, telenovela writer Gloria Perez, with whom the actor has worked, stood out by leaving a heart emoji; TV host Ratinho and actor Oscar Magrini also commented.
The endorsement is a shift from what the actor said two years ago. In August 2024, Fasano stated he would not vote for Jair Bolsonaro again, though he added that 'it all depends on who' the candidate would be. On the other side of the race, Lula's campaign has rallied names such as Caetano Veloso, Maria Bethânia, Chico Buarque and Glória Pires, while Flávio counts on country stars like Leonardo, Zezé Di Camargo and Amado Batista. Voting takes place this Sunday (Oct. 4).
