Roberto Medina says sertanejo and country are on Rock in Rio's radar
The festival's founder said there is no concrete plan yet but didn't rule out a bigger stage for Brazil's most-played genre.

He noted that sertanejo is Brazil's most-played genre but stressed he hasn't started thinking about it in concrete terms.
Medina pointed to the festival's K-pop debut in 2026, with Stray Kids, as an example of successful lineup diversification. Sertanejo has already appeared at Rock in Rio: in 2024, the "Brazil Day" featured Chitãozinho & Xororó, Ana Castela and Simone Mendes.
The comments quickly fueled media speculation about possible names, such as Ana Castela and Luan Santana. So far, however, no sertanejo act has been announced for upcoming editions.
