Built for Tom Petty and the set of 'Selena + Chef': inside the $5.4 million mansion Selena Gomez just sold
The Encino home, where the singer lived for six years before moving in with Benny Blanco, has a wine cellar, a vocal booth, a massage room and two primary suites.

The Encino mansion, in Los Angeles' San Fernando Valley, was custom-built in 1989 for Tom Petty and his first wife, Jane Benyo, after an arsonist destroyed the couple's previous home on the same lot in 1987. Decades later the property was foreclosed on in 2015, bought by developers from the bank in 2017 for $2.6 million and fully renovated.
Gomez bought it in March 2020 for about $4.9 million through a private trust. She lived there for the next six years — and it was in the kitchen, fitted with a Viking range, that she filmed HBO Max's pandemic-born cooking show 'Selena + Chef.'
The home spans about 11,500 square feet, with six bedrooms and ten bathrooms, including two primary suites. Perks include a wine cellar, gym, massage room, glam room, office, vocal booth, media room and formal dining room. Outside there's a pool, spa, cabana with bar, fire pit and alfresco dining area.
It was listed in May 2026 at $6.495 million and, after a cut of roughly $1 million, sold for $5.4 million, closing on Sept. 9. Gomez now lives with husband Benny Blanco — whom she married in September 2025 — in a $35 million Beverly Hills compound with seven bedrooms, two guesthouses, a home theater, a gym and a music studio.
