'I was really single for five years': Kim Kardashian talks 'healing' after Kanye but dodges Lewis Hamilton questions

Kim Kardashian told The Times she spent five years truly on her own after her marriage to Kanye West ended. 'I really didn't feel empty. I felt like I needed my time,' she said. 'I wanted to completely heal and just work on myself.' She said the period was devoted to her children and the projects she wanted, with no rush to start a new romance.

Asked about Lewis Hamilton, with whom she has been seen since the start of the year, Kardashian declined to elaborate: 'In the most respectful way, I'd probably rather not.' Still, she offered a line fans read as a romantic hint: 'The universe works in your favour when you just allow it to.'

She also discussed raising North, 13, Saint, 10, Chicago, 8, and Psalm, 7, without the illusion of fame. She recalled advice from her father, Robert Kardashian: 'You're going to have to work extra hard to maintain the life that you have seen, because this isn't your life.' Today, she says, she talks to her kids about effort, gratitude and hard work.
