On Wednesday (7), the streamer announced that 'The Hunting Wives' has been renewed for an eight-episode third season, more than a month before Season 2 premieres on November 26. The series stars Brittany Snow as Sophie O'Neil and Malin Åkerman as Margo Banks, and follows a woman who trades Boston for East Texas with her husband and falls into the dangerous orbit of a group of wives in fictional Maple Brook.
The first season debuted in July 2025 as a Starz project, with Netflix acquiring it for U.S. viewers — and it became a phenomenon. According to Deadline, it racked up more than 35 million views, reached the Top 10 in 40 countries and hit No. 1 in 10, including the United States. It also spent five weeks on the platform's global English-language TV chart, peaking at No. 2.
Created by Rebecca Cutter from May Cobb's 2021 novel, the series has already moved beyond the book's events. Starting with Season 2, Netflix takes over production and distribution as an in-house original after Lionsgate, the studio behind it, regained rights in several territories. There's no date or full cast for the third year yet, but Cutter has set the tone: 'Buckle up, because Season 3 will be even more scandalous and twisted.'
