Foto: Reprodução/Record via ItatiaiaBrazil's Record has reportedly decided to fire Carol Lekker, according to Portal LeoDias, in a story picked up by other outlets on Friday (Oct. 2). The network has not confirmed it, and the host, who moved from SBT to Record in September and hosts the group's 'Link TV' podcast, had reportedly not yet been notified. For now, this is behind-the-scenes reporting.
The trigger was Thursday's (Oct. 1) 'Cabine de Descompressão', the post-elimination interview with Adryana Ribeiro. Live on air, Carol told the singer that her friend Rick, her musical partner of 35 years, had died in a helicopter crash: 'Brazil is bleeding, it's sad.' Adryana, who did not know, was visibly shocked and asked whether it was true. Co-host Christina Rocha apologized: 'A thousand apologies from the whole team.'
Behind the scenes, according to reports, Christina left the taping upset by her colleague's interruptions and asked management not to pair them in interviews again. Carol, for her part, said on social media that the idea of telling Adryana came from Dudu Camargo, winner of A Fazenda 17 and now a Record employee; Adryana's husband questioned the suggestion. Dudu had not commented as of the latest update.
