The rapper from Queimados, in the Baixada Fluminense region, was booked for the opening show of the Split 2 grand final between LOS and FURIA on Saturday (Oct. 10) at Arena Carioca 1 in Rio. She was 13 at that 2014 final: 'It was one of the best days of my life to this day,' she told Mais Esports.
Ebony says she came to LoL through Get Jinxed, the game's own virtual band, and has played since 2013 or 2014. In the interview, she linked the habit to her childhood: growing up around violence in her neighborhood pushed her toward video games, and feeling like an outsider offline was offset by a sense of belonging among players. That's why, she says, her music fits the game's audience — she's part of it too.
As for the show, the singer said she prepared something more contemplative, since she doesn't expect the crowd to know her lyrics by heart. She also had a message for younger fans: don't give up your hobbies out of fear of being judged. The final, worth the title and a direct spot in the Worlds Swiss Stage, also featured sponsor activations and a DJ in the food area.
