The Town 2027 announces Slipknot and Marilyn Manson, and the Manson booking draws backlash
Both acts open the festival on September 4, 2027, at Interlagos; The Town says it rejects any form of violence.
Foto: Anthony Scanga/DivulgaçãoThe Town revealed its first two acts for 2027 on Monday (28): Slipknot and Marilyn Manson, both on the main stage on September 4. The festival runs September 4, 5, 6, 11 and 12, 2027, at the Interlagos racetrack in São Paulo; ticket sales have not been dated yet.
The Manson booking sparked a wave of criticism online. Since 2021, several women, including actress Evan Rachel Wood, have accused him of abuse; the musician has always denied it and says the relationships were consensual. In January 2025, Los Angeles prosecutors declined to file criminal charges, citing insufficient evidence on some counts and expired statutes of limitations.
In a statement, The Town said it rejects any form of violence, aggression and harassment and that it is up to the relevant authorities to assess the allegations. Slipknot last played Brazil in 2024; Manson hasn't performed in the country since the 2016 Maximus Festival.
