6.4 million views in three days and love billed like an invoice: Ricardo Arjona teams with Grupo Firme on a norteño bolero and readies a 30-song album

'Amor factura', the first single from 'De todo un poco', blends Eduin Caz's band's regional Mexican sound with the Guatemalan's irony — and he insists it wasn't strategy: 'Collaborations should happen with someone like-minded.'

Ricardo Arjona found in Grupo Firme, Eduin Caz's band, the partner for 'Amor factura', a mix of regional Mexican music and norteño bolero that topped 6.4 million YouTube views in about three days. The lyrics, with the Guatemalan's trademark humor and irony, tell of a man who feels used by a woman and realizes that affection, effort and expectations can also turn into debt — hence the 'invoice' in the title. In the video, the artists perform on a stage with red curtains, candles and instruments, in an intimate setting.

Arjona made a point of saying there was no market calculation. 'People think my collaborations follow some kind of plan,' he said in an Instagram video, arguing that partnerships 'should happen with someone who is like-minded.' He said he felt at ease with the band because he sees the same essence in them: the group now flies by private jet but never cut ties with its old neighborhood. The release campaign sums it up with the slogan 'No por algoritmos' ('Not for algorithms').

The song is the first single from 'De todo un poco', a title Arjona revealed at a show on his 'Lo que el seco no dijo' tour and which is expected to gather around 30 songs, with no release date yet. The tour visits Honduras and El Salvador in October and November, then plays 19 dates in Mexico from Nov. 7 to Dec. 20, closing with two nights at the Mexico City stadium formerly known as the Azteca.
