'I made Bad Bunny': Ric Flair, star of the 2017 'Chambea' video, claims credit for the Puerto Rican's success in a viral clip — and reopens a 2024 grudge

The wrestling legend dropped the line while answering a wedding invitation; in 2024, he complained the singer barely acknowledged him backstage at WrestleMania.

Wrestling legend Ric Flair is talking about Bad Bunny again — and not modestly. In a video that circulated on Friday (Oct. 9), he answers a wedding invitation by promising to make the party the 'greatest of all time, Nature Boy style' if he gets two tickets, then adds: 'FYI, I made Bad Bunny. Chambea. Wooo!' His drawn-out pronunciation of the hit's title became a joke of its own among fans.

The jab has history. Flair starred in the video for 'Chambea', released in 2017, when the Puerto Rican was still a rising name in Latin trap. In a 2018 interview with The Fader, however, Bad Bunny said casting a ring legend in the video was his own idea, and that he was nervous before meeting the wrestler. Flair later brought him to WrestleMania and introduced him to stars such as John Cena; in 2018, the singer showed up backstage at RAW 25 wearing one of his idol's robes.

The relationship cooled, though: in 2024, Flair said Bad Bunny barely acknowledged him backstage at WrestleMania, a complaint now back in the spotlight. The singer, now a regular WWE presence — in his latest appearance he beat Damian Priest in a street fight at Backlash in San Juan —, has not responded to the new comment.
