The celebration didn't last. 'Bass Persuades,' Miley Cyrus' 10th studio album, debuted atop the Billboard 200 with 61,000 equivalent album units — the singer's first U.S. No. 1 since 2013's 'Bangerz.' One week later, however, the record fell 156 places to No. 157.

According to NME, it is the biggest drop in the chart's history for an album the week after a No. 1 debut. There have been steeper falls, but not for debuts: Bon Jovi's 'This House Is Not For Sale' returned to No. 1 in 2018 and slid to No. 169 the following week, and Travis Scott's 'Days Before Rodeo' hit No. 1 a decade after its original release and dropped off the chart right after.

Released Sept. 18 via Atlantic Records, 'Bass Persuades' follows 2025's 'Something Beautiful.' On the same chart, Taylor Swift reclaimed the top spot with 'The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore,' while Tinashe's 'Popstar' debuted at No. 6.
