MC Marcinho's widow criticizes Natanzinho Lima for dropping the funk star's name from 'Glamourosa'

Kelly Garcia, widow of MC Marcinho, spoke out on social media after 23-year-old singer Natanzinho Lima began performing 'Glamourosa' without the lyric that mentions the funk artist's name. In a video she later deleted, she recalled watching the song being born 'in a notebook' before it took over the world.

Kelly said she is bothered by the 'appropriation' of an existing song and stressed that most artists who cover Marcinho keep the reference to him in the lyrics. 'My discomfort isn't about someone singing it — quite the opposite, I'm happy. But nobody changes the lyrics,' she said.

After the backlash, she posted a new message saying she had tried to choose her words so it wouldn't sound like an attack and that her discomfort is legitimate. MC Marcinho, the 'Prince of Funk', died in 2023 at 45 of multiple organ failure. Natanzinho Lima had not commented at the time of publication.
