Olivia Colman marries a wicker man: 'Wicker' premieres at Zurich Film Festival
Alexander Skarsgård plays the basket-woven husband in the romantic fable, hitting US theaters in October.
Foto: Getty ImagesOlivia Colman and Alexander Skarsgård premiered 'Wicker' at the Zurich Film Festival in Switzerland on Monday (Sept. 28). Directed by Alex Huston Fischer and Eleanor Wilson, the fantasy rom-com also stars Peter Dinklage and features effects by New Zealand's Weta Workshop.
In the story, an ostracized fisherwoman commissions a husband from a basketmaker. The wicker man exceeds every expectation, stirring jealousy and fascination in the village. 'My dream was always to have nipples made out of wicker,' Skarsgård joked, while Colman called the script one of the most original she has read.
The film opens in limited US release on October 23 and expands on October 30. The Zurich festival runs through October 4.
