According to a report published by Deadline on Friday (Oct. 2), the actor has joined the cast of 'Miami Vice '85', Universal's new film inspired by the 1980s cop series, to play one of the story's villains.
Sources cited by the outlet say Goggins would play an assassin or henchman working for the cartel boss played by John Leguizamo — a detail that has not yet been officially confirmed. The casting came together only after schedule adjustments around the shoot of 'Fallout' season three.
Directed by Joseph Kosinski ('Top Gun: Maverick', 'F1'), the film stars Michael B. Jordan and Austin Butler as detectives Tubbs and Crockett, roles made famous on TV by Philip Michael Thomas and Don Johnson. It is set to hit theaters on May 19, 2028.
