Morning TV viewers in Brazil have already noticed: Ana Maria Braga has vanished from 'Mais Você'. The host told her audience she would be away from the morning show for 45 days starting September 28, 'for good reasons.' The reason has a name: the taping of the second season of 'Chef de Alto Nível', the cooking competition she fronts in Globo's prime time.

The format tests 24 contestants across three kitchens with different setups and resources. The cast mixes professionals, internet personalities and amateur cooks, and the winner takes home R$500,000.

Alongside Ana Maria, the mentors are three heavyweights of Brazilian cuisine: Alex Atala, Jefferson Rueda and Renata Vanzetto. Contestants are being revealed little by little on 'Mais Você' itself. Among the names announced on Friday (Oct. 2) are Bárbara Cardin, 31, who has worked in the kitchens of Gordon Ramsay and Atala himself; Yasmim Juliana, 21, from Minas Gerais, a content creator and sous-chef at Mascate restaurant in Belo Horizonte; and Bruno dos Santos, 31, who holds a doctorate in Food Technology and works as a consultant and nutritionist.

The new season premieres October 13, right after the telenovela 'Quem Ama Cuida'. Until then, 'Mais Você' carries on without its star, who said she would be away from the morning show for 45 days.
