Marcio Garcia's mansion is making headlines again. Listed at $50 million, about R$250 million, the Brazilian actor and TV host's house in Joá, in western Rio de Janeiro, is described as one of the most expensive homes for sale in the country. The listing is handled by Piquet Realty, a Florida-based agency.

The property spans more than 6,000 square meters, with views of the ocean and the Pedra da Gávea rock. Inside are seven suites, 18 bathrooms, three full kitchens and an office for 20 people. The standout is a soundproof cinema that turns into a nightclub for around 100 guests. The landscaping bears the signature of Burle Marx.

Outside, the list goes on: a semi-Olympic pool, a jacuzzi, mini golf, a zip line, a sports court, access to a private beach and even a helicopter landing area. Security is monitored around the clock, according to the agency.

The price, however, splits the market. Brokers interviewed by Diário do Rio say homes in Joá usually sell for far less, and Marcio himself told columnist Leo Dias that the figure came out of an informal conversation and stuck, admitting he doubts anyone will pay that much.
