'Galinha Pintadinha O Filme' is written and directed by Juliano Prado and Marcos Luporini, the character's creators, and distributed by Imagem Filmes. The animated film runs 1 hour 23 minutes and is rated for ages 6 and up.
In the story, a stork's mix-up lands the Little Yellow Chick in a hawk's nest, and the hen has to face her own fears to rescue him. The film deals with family, courage and getting along with those who are different.
The premiere closes a curious loop: in 2006, the creators uploaded the first video to YouTube only as a sample for TV producers. It stayed online, built an audience on its own and became one of Brazil's biggest kids' channels, now with over 39.5 million subscribers, two decades before the blue hen reached the big screen.
