'I got banned from Instagram twice for impersonating myself': Ben Affleck says he had 6 followers — his kids and a few friends
In a Variety interview, the 54-year-old actor said he only made the account to check his kids' social media and called himself 'a terrible influencer.'

'I got banned from Instagram twice for impersonating myself,' the actor told Variety, as reported by ComingSoon. The account had six followers: his children and a few friends.
Now 54 and promoting Netflix's 'Animals', Affleck explained the profile was just 'an excuse for me to look at [my kids'] social media accounts.' He acknowledged that Hollywood casting directors weigh social media followings, but called himself 'a terrible influencer' with no interest in building an online audience.
The actor argued performers should keep some mystery: 'There used to be a time when everything you said or did wasn't on the permanent record.' He added: 'I realize I sound like an old, out-of-touch person, but I believe that as an actor you have to maintain an illusion,' naming Daniel Day-Lewis, Meryl Streep, Viola Davis and Denzel Washington as brilliant performers.
