The new take on John Steinbeck's novel follows the multigenerational saga of the Trask family and puts new focus on Cathy Ames, one of American literature's most striking antiheroines, played by Pugh. Zoe Kazan and Jeb Stuart are co-showrunners; the cast also includes Tracy Letts, Ciarán Hinds and Martha Plimpton.
All seven episodes drop on Netflix on October 1, making it one of the platform's most anticipated releases of the month.
