In the Group B decider at Valorant Champions in Shanghai, the Brazilian side beat Global Esports 2-0, winning 13-8 on Split, the opponents' pick, and 13-9 on Sunset, LOUD's pick. The win comes a day after the organization's League of Legends team was swept by FURIA in the CBLOL and lost its spot at LoL Worlds.
The standout was Chile's Roberto 'erde' Lobos, who racked up 46 kills across the two maps and finished the series with a 1.56 rating while also handling his team's in-game calls. On Split, Global Esports built an early lead, but LOUD strung together a run of rounds to flip the map. On Sunset, the team raced out to a 7-0 start and went into halftime up 9-3.
LOUD advance alongside Team Vitality, who had already beaten the Brazilians in the group stage. Global Esports exit their first-ever Champions, and China remains without a single team at the event it is hosting. The eight-team double-elimination playoffs begin on Wednesday (Oct. 7) at the Jing'an Sports Center, and the grand final is set for October 18 at the Mercedes-Benz Arena, with a total prize pool of $2.25 million.
