Tears from 2017, broccoli hair, Gumayusi's dog and six trophies: the hidden references in 'Know My Name', the Worlds 2026 music video about Faker
The League of Legends World Championship anthem, performed by virtual group True Damage, turns the T1 star's career into four minutes of easter eggs.
Imagem: Riot Games (via Mais Esports)Riot Games released 'Know My Name' on Thursday (Oct. 8) as the official song of the 2026 League of Legends World Championship, and the music video quickly turned into a reference hunt for fans. Performed by True Damage — the virtual group behind 'GIANTS', a hit that passed 230 million plays — the track brings back i-dle's SOYEON as the voice of Akali and debuts Coco Jones (Senna), Vic Mensa (Ekko) and Sofía Reyes (Qiyana), with Yasuo as DJ. It is the 13th official Worlds song and the first by a Riot-created virtual band. The animation, directed by studio CRCR, tells the story of Faker, the greatest player in LoL history.
The opening seconds set the tone: the 2013, 2015 and 2016 trophies are reflected in the South Korean's glasses, followed by a scene of him crying after losing the 2017 final to Samsung Galaxy. Storefront signs nod to old rivals — 'Najin-Sword Smithshop' points to the 2013 semifinal against NaJin Black Sword — buildings are named after the 2017-2021 champions (Samsung Galaxy, Invictus Gaming, FunPlus Phoenix, DAMWON and EDward Gaming), and there's even a broccoli symbol, a long-running joke about the player's hair.
Teammates get tributes too: Gumayusi appears with his dog Doongi holding the elevator for Zeus, Oner and Keria, the lineup known as ZOFGK, and Keria's tears after the 2022 final — named photo of the year at the Esports Awards — are recreated. Zeus's move to Hanwha Life and Doran's arrival are in there as well, along with the Akali triple kill from the 2023 final and the Anivia duel against Bdd's Cassiopeia in the 2025 final.
The video ends with a shushing gesture, finger to lips, and Faker's six world titles: 2013, 2015, 2016, 2023, 2024 and 2025. Worlds 2026 starts Oct. 15, with LOS and FURIA representing Brazil, and the final is set for Nov. 14 at Barclays Center in New York — where True Damage will perform live.
