Taylor Swift has a new stage lined up: the singer will close the 6th annual Academy Museum Gala, the Los Angeles museum run by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, on Oct. 17. The announcement came on Thursday (Oct. 8). 'Taylor is an extraordinary talent whose work resonates around the world,' said Amy Homma, director and president of the Academy Museum.

The evening, presented in partnership with Rolex, will honor three film figures: director John Carpenter receives the Luminary Award, Colman Domingo the Vantage Award and Charlize Theron the Icon Award. The gala is co-chaired by Tom Ford, Robert Rodriguez, Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw, and the host committee includes Jessica Alba, John Legend and Seth Rogen. Proceeds support the museum's exhibitions, education programs and public screenings.

The booking comes at a strategic moment: Swift is in the running for the 2027 Oscars, held in March, with 'I Knew It, I Knew You,' an original song from 'Toy Story 5.' Organizers have not revealed her set list, and the idea that she will sing the Pixar track at the gala remains fan speculation — but if the nomination comes, it would be her first in the category.
