Taylor Swift does something unprecedented in the UK: 'Patient Zero' debuts at No. 1 and 'Showgirl' leaps from No. 84 to the top
For the first time, the singer has three No. 1 singles in the same year on the British charts — and the album returns to the summit on its first anniversary.

It's the fifth time since 2022 she has led both charts at once.
'Patient Zero' is Swift's eighth UK No. 1 and her third of 2026, after 'Opalite' and 'I Knew It, I Knew You'. It is the first time she has landed three British chart-toppers in one calendar year, and she is the only artist to do so in 2026. The other new 'Encore' songs also did well: 'Cleveland' debuted at No. 3 and 'Babylon' at No. 4.
The album's return to No. 1 coincides with the first anniversary of 'The Life of a Showgirl', released Oct. 3, 2025, which has now passed 815,000 units in the UK. It brings Swift to 14 UK No. 1 albums, the most by a female artist in the chart's history.
