'I can message her right now': Tame Impala reveals how he reached Jennie for 'Dracula', and fans swear the mystery friend is BTS' V
Kevin Parker said a mutual friend connected him with the BLACKPINK star; the internet tied the story to a 2024 dinner with V, but nothing has been confirmed.

On Variety's 'Behind the Song' series, he said the connection came over dinner. 'I was having dinner with my friend who knows her and he was like, I can message her right now if you want. And I was like, whoa, whoa, slow down', the Australian recalled, without naming the friend.
That was enough to send fans into detective mode. Because Parker was seen having dinner with BTS' V during a trip to Korea in November 2024, part of the fandom began insisting the 'friend' was him, reigniting the old rumor of a romance between V and Jennie. To be clear: this is fan speculation only. Neither the musician nor the artists' agencies have confirmed the friend's identity, let alone any relationship.
In the same conversation, Parker explained why he wanted a female voice on 'Dracula', a track from his 2025 album 'Deadbeat'. 'I always thought it needed a female singer', he said, praising the 'spirit' and 'playfulness' Jennie brought to the remix, with new lines, layered vocals and a fresh rap verse. The two first shared a stage in July, in Boston, during Tame Impala's tour.
