Just over two weeks after Rick's death, Renner is going back to singing the Brazilian sertanejo duo's repertoire. The announcement came on social media from Geralda Helena, the singer's widow, who unveiled 'Rick & Renner pra Sempre: O Legado' (Rick & Renner Forever: The Legacy), a series of special shows honoring his partner. 'Rick & Renner's legacy will go on,' wrote Geralda, who met her husband 42 years ago.

Rick died at 59 in September after a helicopter went down in Urubici, in the mountains of Santa Catarina state. Also on board were businessman Bruno Avelar, videographer Paulo Soares, pilot Antônio Roberto Nóbrega de Araújo and co-pilot Leopoldo Barros Teixeira. According to police, the bodies were taken to the Florianópolis coroner's office and released to the funeral home at around 1:30 a.m. on September 23.

The new phase will be run by Marcos Nascimento, who has followed the duo for 36 years and has managed Rick & Renner's career for the last 15. No dates or cities for the shows have been announced yet. In her message, Geralda Helena stressed that the decision was made out of respect for the history the two built over decades in sertanejo.
