Netinho de Paula is already home. The 56-year-old singer, former frontman of pagode group Negritude Júnior, was discharged on Thursday (8), a day after undergoing surgery at a São Paulo hospital to treat papillary thyroid carcinoma. The tumor was found at an early stage during routine tests, and the diagnosis was confirmed on September 26.

The procedure, performed on Wednesday morning (7), was a total thyroidectomy with laryngeal nerve monitoring and removal of lymph nodes from the central neck. According to the bulletin signed by surgeon Flávio Hojaij, the operation lasted about an hour and a half and ended without complications. A preliminary analysis of the lymph nodes, carried out during surgery, found no metastasis, and the prognosis was rated excellent.

Despite the good news, the artist's concert schedule is suspended for all of October. Before going into the operating room, Netinho reassured fans: 'Everything will be fine. I'll beat this disease with you by my side.' The diagnosis came days before the October 4 election, in which he ran for federal deputy for São Paulo and received 19,337 votes without winning a seat.
