'It'll pass in a few days': with a high fever, Joaquín Levinton forces Turf to cancel shows in Uruguay and Argentina hours before going on stage
Turf's frontman has a severe flu-like illness and doctors ordered rest, so the band called off its shows in Minas and Casilda.
Foto: InfobaeArgentine rock band Turf on Friday (Oct. 9) cancelled its weekend shows because of Joaquín Levinton's health. According to the band, the singer has a 'severe flu-like condition' and was ordered by doctors to rest. The first affected date was an 11 p.m. set at the Semana de Lavalleja in Minas, Uruguay, called off just hours before showtime; the second was due in Casilda, in Argentina's Santa Fe province, also this weekend.
On Instagram Stories, Levinton reassured fans himself: he said he is going through 'a high fever,' which is why the band had to suspend the dates, and promised that 'in a few days it'll pass.' In a statement, Turf said it was sorry not to meet audiences in both cities and hoped to bring the show 'soon,' but announced no new dates.
The break comes during a turbulent stretch for the singer. Levinton is the subject of a complaint in the Argentine courts, handled by Court No. 50, and on Wednesday (Oct. 7), in an interview on América TV's 'DDM,' he said 'last week was very hard' and that he has chosen not to file a counterclaim for now. The band attributed the cancellations solely to health reasons.
