During 'Con quién se queda el perro', the singer steps away as her brother approaches, and fans speak of tension; neither has commented.
Foto: Jovani Pérez/InfobaeJesse & Joy's break is generating more buzz than most new music. Videos from the Mexican duo's recent show in Santiago, Chile, went viral for showing Joy, with a serious expression, moving away as Jesse approaches her during '¿Con quién se queda el perro?', one of the siblings' biggest hits. Another clip, from '3 A.M.', circulated with a caption claiming 'Joy wouldn't get near Jesse even by accident.'
Fans were split online. Some spoke of an 'ego clash' and contrasted Jesse's smile with his sister's stern face; others defended Joy's right to keep her distance on stage. Commenters also dug up posts by Mónica León, Jesse's wife, which some read as digs at her sister-in-law. All of this is internet interpretation: as of publication, neither Jesse nor Joy had addressed the videos.
The context explains the suspicion. On Sept. 15, the duo announced a temporary hiatus but are still honoring booked tour dates. A week later, Joy held a press conference alone and said she learned of her brother's decision 20 minutes before the statement went out, speaking of her uncertainty about a career without him. Jesse, meanwhile, is working on a side project, Jesse y Los Supernovas.
