According to the organization, it was the first time in 14 years the festival had to be called off, as there was no safe way to host tens of thousands of attendees and the necessary equipment on the lawn. No rain date was announced.
The Brazilian star had been confirmed as a special guest on a lineup featuring Alicia Keys, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Lenny Kravitz and John Legend, hosted by Hugh Jackman. The festival rallies campaigns against extreme poverty, with free tickets earned through actions in its app.
