Frejat slams campaign parody of 'Bete Balanço': 'A total lack of respect for authors' rights'
The classic he wrote with Cazuza became a 'Vote for the Jaguar' jingle at a protest by candidate Renan Santos outside Globo.

The song was reworked into a parody called 'Vote na Onça' ('Vote for the Jaguar'), a nod to the party's mascot, with altered lyrics.
The candidate himself sang the version from a sound truck during a protest on Thursday (Oct. 1) outside TV Globo's headquarters in Rio de Janeiro. According to the statement, publisher Warner Chappell had already sent a cease-and-desist notice on Sept. 22.
'We do not share your ideas, nor the continuous, improper and unauthorized use of our song, which shows a total lack of respect for authors' rights,' the musician said. So far, the campaign has not publicly responded.
