Heel caught in her trousers, a fall and a thumbs-up: Céline Dion tumbles onstage in Paris and finishes the song like nothing happened

At the 11th show of the residency marking her return after stiff-person syndrome, the singer slipped during 'Dans un autre monde', got up within seconds and kept singing.

Céline Dion had a scare — and delivered a masterclass in professionalism — during the 11th show of her residency at the Plénitude Arena in Nanterre, just outside Paris. While dancing to 'Dans un autre monde', a 1998 track, her shoe heel caught on the fabric of her trousers and she went down. Videos circulating online show the Canadian star giving the crowd a thumbs-up, getting up on her own and finishing the song without stopping.

'She got right back up instantly,' audience member Gary Francq, who filmed the viral clip, told Storyful. According to Archyde, the night also had a second unscripted moment: while introducing another song, Dion admitted she had forgotten the lyrics ('I forgot my words'), and the crowd sang the verses until she picked it back up.

The Paris run, which began in September with dates scheduled into 2027, is the singer's first full-length return to the stage since March 2020, when her tour was halted by the pandemic and later canceled after her diagnosis of stiff-person syndrome, a rare neurological disorder. At the opening night, visibly moved, she told the crowd: 'I made a promise.'
