Anitta loses Best Latin at the VMAs to Bad Bunny but keeps a share of the category record

The Brazilian star was up for a fourth win with “Choka Choka”, her collab with Shakira; Bad Bunny won with “NUEVAYoL”.

Anitta did not win Best Latin at the 2026 VMAs. The award went to Bad Bunny for “NUEVAYoL”. Anitta was nominated for “Choka Choka”, her first collaboration with Shakira, released in April.

It was her first loss in the category, which she won in 2022, 2023 and 2024. With three trophies, she remains tied with J Balvin as the most awarded artist in Best Latin history.

She did not attend the ceremony in Los Angeles. According to POPline, she traveled to Europe after wrapping commitments with TV Globo.
