Review: on 'Fragmentos: A Experiência,' Ludmilla closes her R&B era with 27 live tracks — a generous goodbye before 'Fervo da Lud'
Recorded at a one-off show at Rio's Qualistage, the live album hit YouTube and streaming this week after special cinema screenings.
Foto: Reprodução/Instagram @ludmilla'Fragmentos,' released in November 2025, was Ludmilla's riskiest bet: a contemporary R&B album with Victoria Monét, Muni Long, Latto, Luísa Sonza, Veigh, Emilia Mernes and others that reached Spotify's global top 10 albums. 'Fragmentos: A Experiência' documents the immersive show built for that era, staged only once, on July 23, at Qualistage in Rio's Barra da Tijuca. It screened in special cinema sessions in Rio and São Paulo on Tuesday (Oct. 6) and arrived on YouTube and streaming on Wednesday (Oct. 7).
In this review, the biggest plus is the choice to turn an intimate record into a spectacle without abandoning its concept: the set runs through 'Falta Eu,' 'A Pior Parte,' 'Telepatia,' 'Dopamina,' 'Saudade da Gente,' 'Textos Longos' and the era's hits, 'Paraíso' — certified platinum for more than 35 million streams — and 'Bota,' gold with more than 15 million. The studio album itself went gold for more than 135 million streams, announced at the premiere, proof that the R&B pivot found an audience.
Excess is the weak spot: 27 tracks demand superfan stamina and dilute the strongest moments, something a tighter cut would fix. Still, as a document of a phase Ludmilla championed against the expectations of those who only wanted funk and pagode, it does its job — and clears the way for 'Fervo da Lud,' her Carnival-themed debut EP with Sony Music, set to soundtrack the summer up to Carnival 2027 in Rio and Salvador. Score: 7/10
