She revealed that while he was still lucid, Lito recorded videos for their son, Malone, 7, to watch on his 9th, 14th and 18th birthdays. According to Mila, they contain lessons he thought were important to pass on to the boy. She also said her husband talked to their son about the cycle of life in a beautiful, emotional way.
Mila described Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease as 'overwhelming' and said it is 'nowhere near' what people read about it: 'In a matter of days it changes the whole picture.' As it progressed, it became hard even to pin down their last conversation, since at one point Lito could only answer by blinking. 'We can't be sure, because he stopped talking,' she said when asked how much he still understood. Her goodbye, she said, came down to one sentence: 'Go in peace, we'll stay here, we'll manage.'
The widow praised her husband's 'extraordinary emotional intelligence' and said that even in the hardest moments he 'never lost his kindness with anyone.' Mila, who handled strategy and sales while Lito ran communication, remains at the helm of Lito Group, which covers courses, professional training and aviation content. The company brought in R$ 20 million in the 12 months through June 2026, a figure that belongs to the business, not his personal fortune. During his hospitalization, she had already pushed back on unofficial fundraisers, saying the family had the means to cover the costs.
