Marcela Montellato, 25, who has 6.3 million followers on TikTok and 1.8 million on Instagram, revealed she spent eight days unable to walk because of vestibular neuritis. Known for comedy, travel and personal storytelling videos, she also works as a screenwriter and director. According to her account, the dizziness hit suddenly and was so severe that she needed her parents to get out of bed and even to shower. 'My parents rushed me to the hospital,' she said.

The video's format itself showed how bad the episode was: Marcela narrated everything in voice-over, without appearing on camera, and explained why with a dose of humor. 'Apparently I can't look at the camera and talk,' she told followers. She often turns episodes from her own life into content, and this time was no exception.

Vestibular neuritis is inflammation of the nerve that carries information about the head's position and movement to the brain. It causes intense vertigo, nausea, vomiting and difficulty standing or walking. Unlike labyrinthitis, it usually does not cause significant hearing loss. Recovery is gradual, and symptoms such as a feeling of unsteadiness can linger for weeks or even months.
