A video shot in Monterrey has put Lupita TikTok, an influencer well known in the Nuevo León capital, at the center of a debate in Mexico. Approached by two fans who wanted a picture, she told them she would only pose for a fee: 30 pesos. One of the young women laughed, thinking it was a joke, and even asked her friend for '15 pesos for the bus' while they pooled their cash — but Lupita stuck to the full price.

When the person filming burst out laughing, the influencer got annoyed and said, 'Don't make fun of me.' In the end the fans paid the 30 pesos and got their photo. The clip spread through news accounts on X and split opinion: some criticized how she treated her fans, while others argued that creators are entitled to charge for their own image.

It is not her first awkward moment lately: days earlier, another video showed her losing patience when asked to send greetings to three people, complaining there were too many names. According to El Gráfico, she has said she has no fixed rate and accepts 10 or 20 pesos, or whatever people can give, and that many take photos with her without paying.
