From Canelo and McGregor to old rival KSI: cleared after a jaw broken in two places, Jake Paul lists the 12 fighters he wants next
Ten months after his knockout loss to Anthony Joshua and two surgeries, the YouTuber-turned-boxer was cleared to return and posted a hit list that still ends with a 'World Title'.
Jake Paul is back. On Thursday (Oct. 8), Most Valuable Promotions co-founder Nakisa Bidarian announced on X that the YouTuber 'has been cleared to return to the boxing ring.' Paul has not fought since December 2025, when Anthony Joshua knocked him out in the sixth round in Miami — the blow broke his jaw in two places, and he needed a second surgery in February. 'Everyone wants the highlight reel. Nobody wants the broken jaw and two surgeries,' he wrote the same day.
Soon after, Paul posted a list opening with 'Before I rest…'. It names 12 fighters from boxing and MMA: 1) Canelo Álvarez; 2) Francis Ngannou; 3) Conor McGregor (boxing or MMA); 4) Sean Strickland; 5) Darren Till; 6) Ryan Garcia; 7) KSI, his old YouTube rival; 8) Chris Eubank; 9) Edgar Berlanga; 10) Tom Aspinall (boxing); 11) Deontay Wilder; 12) Nate Diaz (MMA, after beating him in boxing). The list also includes an insulting line about the fighter who 'ruined' one of his fights — likely Gervonta Davis, according to Athlon Sports, though Paul did not name him — and closes with 'World Title'.
One name has already answered: Sean Strickland, in a pay dispute with the UFC, said he is 'kinda over it' and even floated moving up to 205 pounds to face Paul, who replied by asking whether he was out of contract and telling his 'promoter' to call MVP. Tommy Fury, who beat Paul in 2023, was left off — and took a jab: according to the YouTuber, he is controlled by his dad and 'missed his opportunity.'
