An all-black warehouse and $11 million: inside IShowSpeed's new Miami base
At 21, the YouTuber who performed at the World Cup final bought a 26,600-square-foot warehouse to turn into his content studio.
Four years ago, IShowSpeed was barking and screaming in his mom's house in Ohio. Now, at 21, Darren Jason Watkins Jr. owns an $11 million warehouse in Miami. According to The Real Deal, as reported by Complex, the YouTuber closed on a roughly 26,600-square-foot warehouse near West Little River in Miami-Dade County, which he plans to turn into a production studio.
Built in 1969, the property sits on a 1.8-acre lot and stands out for one detail: it's painted entirely black, windows included. It's near where Speed went viral in August 2024 for jumping over speeding cars. Reflecting on the moment, he summed up the turnaround: 'A kid from Ohio... and I just performed at the World Cup final.'
The math works. Speed passed 50 million subscribers in January 2026, hailed as the first Black creator to hit the mark, and has about 194 million followers across seven platforms, with 9.6 billion YouTube views. He became the first content creator to perform at a World Cup final, with 'World Cup (Champions),' whose video topped 94 million views.
His annual earnings are estimated at $30 million, driven by brands like Beats by Dre, Dick's Sporting Goods, Doritos and Expedia. His Expedia livestream, according to DesignRush, reached 400 million people and lifted searches for Sint Maarten by 70%. The black warehouse is physical proof that the kid who set his house on fire on stream has become a business.
